Due to personal reasons this was my only trip to the local heath-lands in 2017. And it was so worth it, it was a wonderful morning.
The weather forecast was promising as the conditions should give some fog. So I was heading to my favorite spot in the heather. It is probably the locations with the most height differences, which gives more room for different compositions. I was not disappointed at all: there was the perfect amount of mist in the valley. The fog helps a lot to get a proper composition because it hides all that chaotic trees and junipers. With the nice light in the sky before sunset I just needed to worry about the foreground. Luckily some heather was still in bloom which gives a nice fore ground interest. I also wanted to have a Juniper in fore ground because it is characteristic for this landscape. Beside that I just tried to not include too much other Junipers or trees to keep it as simple as possible.
